South America
South America is a continent located in the Western Hemisphere, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, with a relatively small portion in the Northern Hemisphere. Most of the population lives near the western or eastern coasts of the continents while the interior and the far south are sparsely populated.South America were named after Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. South America together with central america and mexico is called latin America.This because the main lanuages of these lands are derived from Latin.South America has a triangular shape.Broader in the norther part of the continent and becomes narrower towards the south.South America steches from 12 °N to 55°S latitudes and 35°W to 81°W longitudes.South America has been divided in to 13 countries.
