60th National Film awards

President Pranab Mukherjee will confer the 60th National Film awards at a gliterring function in New Delhi this evening.

Bollywood movie Pan Singh Tomar is the Best film and its lead actor Irfan Khan shares the best actor honour with Vikram Gokhale for the Marathi movie Anumati.

The best actress award goes to Ms Usha Jadhav for her performance in Marathi movie Dhag.

Anu Kapoor has won the best supporting actor award for Vicky Donor

The best male playback singer Shankar Mahadevan for the song Bolo Na from the movie Chittagong.

Lyricist Prasoon Joshi has won the best lyrics award for the song Bolo Na from the movie Chittagong.

Sujoy Ghosh won the best screen play writer award for Kahaani.

The award for the best choreography has been conferred on Pt. Birju Maharaj for Tamil film Vishwaroopam.

Gojri and Urdu film Shepherds of Paradise won the best film award.

Vikrant Pawar won the Best Director award for Marathi movie Kaatal.

Timbaktu has won the best film award in the environmental category

Dreaming Taj Mahal has been conferred the award for the best promotional film.

ISRO Young Scientist Award :

A young woman scientist "Jenita Mary Nongkynrih" from Meghalaya has been selected for this year's ISRO young Scientist Award for her Urban information system project in the North East.She is currently Working as a scientist at the NESAC(North Eastern Space Application Center),Umiam,Nongkynrith.

Outstanding Parlimentarian Awards:

BJP leader Arun Jaitley(2010),Congress MP Karan Singh(2011) and JD(U) MP Sharad Yadav(2012).This award is conferred is conferred each year on an outstanding parliamentarian recommended by the award committe and approved by the executive committe of the Indian Parliamentary Group. The Indian Parliamentary Group has instituted the outstanding parliamentarian award in 1984.

Golden Peacock Award:

The Golden Peacock Awards for excellence in business in different sectors would be presented at the ongoing Global Convention on Business Excellence in Dubai.

The award in the automobile sector would be presented to Mahindra and Mahindra farm division

In the power sector it has gone to the Reliance Infrastructure.

In the IT sector CMC Limited gets the top honour

In the transportation sector Dubai based DP World is the winner.

In the banking services sector Punjab National Bank will get the top honour

Mumbai based WNS Global Services Ltd. gets the top honour in BPO sector,
