Sarojini Naidu
Sarojini Naidu also known as the Nightingale of India was born on February 13,1879 in the chattopadhyaya family of Hyderabad,parents were well educated.She was imparted the knowledge of the Eastern world culture and western world culture in her childhood.She knew many languages like English,bangla and urdu.she was very good in studies.At the age of 12,she passed her Matriculation examination and next year she composed a poem"LADY OF THE LAKE" She had a great faith in Gandhi.Throughout in her life she was with Gandhiji.In 1925,she was elected as the President of Indian National Congress.In 1931,she represented Indian National Congress in the Round Table conference and in 1932 she went to south Africa to represent the Indian government.Sarojini Naidu always took part actively in various movements.During the Quit India Movement,She was arrested and was sentenced for three years.After India got Independence in 1947,she was appointed as the governor of UttarPradesh She died on March12,1949.
