Lala Lajpat rai
The might of Lala Lajpat Rai to the cause of India's Independence will be written in golden words in the History of India.He is also Known as the 'Lion of Punjab'.He was born at Dhudike in Ferozepur District,on January 28,1865he was at once Nationalist,Educationist,Thinker,Writer,Orator and a passionate fighter for the revival of the ancient indian culture and values.Hhe came under the influence of Swami Dayanand and joined the Arya Samaj.Lal Lajpat rai took law as profession,but his interest was as an educatonist.Lal Lajpat Rai established the servents of the people societyin 1921.In contrast to Gandhi's view,rai belived if independence could not be gained through non-violence,sterner steps would be needed.In 1924,he met the british Prime minister and in 1926 he wnt to Europe to attend the I.L.O. Rai was brutally beaten while protesting against the simon commission due to which he died on November 17,1928
