Martyr's Day
There are several Days declared as Martyr's Day that honour those recognised as Martyrs for nation

1948 January 30,Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated (in Birla House,now known as Gandhi Smriti)while he was going to evening prayer. Since then Nation pays homage to Mahatma and other Martyrs on this day. On this day the President, the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister and the three service chiefs gather at the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi at rajghat and lay wreath ont he samadhi decorated with Multi colour flowers. All religion prayers offered by religious leaders of different faiths.
March 23rd :The Death anniveersary of Bhagat Singh,Sukdev Thapar,Shivaram Rajguru this three members were hanged on March 23 1931 by British rulers for the demanding freedom for India
July 13th:In Jammu and Kashmir ,Dogra 21 people were shot by the maharaja's forces and the day came to be known as Martyr's Day also known as ( Youm-e-shuhada)
November 17:Orissa observes these day 17 november as the Death anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai.
November 19 :The Queen of Maratha ruled Princly State of Jhansi is observed as Martyr's Day in the region and honous those who gave their livies in the rebellion of 1857 of which the Queen has leading participation.
