January 10th

World Laughter Day

World Laughter Day takes place on the first Sunday of May of every year.

The first celebration was on January 11, 1998, in Mumbai, India, and was arranged by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement.

The practice of Laughter Yoga causes the body to release certain ‘Feel Good’ hormones into the bloodstream related to feelings of happiness, warmth, unconditional love, bonding, tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, and compassion.

->Women laugh twice as often as men. ->Laughter is related to social status. The higher your position in a group, the less often you laugh. ->Laughter is related to social status. The higher your position in a group, the less often you laugh.
